Situated approximately 7 km’s from Storm’s River Bridge (on the PE side) and a little off the N2, this lovely local cheese farm offers a unique opportunity to experience the daily rhythm and routine of the farm; to help connect the dots between where food comes from and finished products— knowledge so often missing in modern lifestyles.
Fynboshoek offers artisan cheese-making demonstrations making mozzarella and/or cheddar. Watch as the cheese-maker transforms 220 litres of raw milk into cheese within hours. They will also teach you to make cheeses such as ricotta, halloumi, cottage cheese as well as yoghurt though demonstrations may vary depending on the needs of the farm.
They have a simple, but lovely cottage built in the vernacular of the Tsitsikamma which sleeps up to 4 people (1 x double, 2 x single) for those who want to spend the night, even if you don’t take part of the cheese course.
With an award winning restaurant (which is open for lunches only and by appointment only) on their premisses, Fynboshoek Cheese Farm promises to be an experience of a lifetime.
Fynboshoek Cheese Farm is the farm we refer all our clients to go to if they want to learn to make cheese.
